While choosing the wallpapers it is necessary to take into account the size and the configuration of Your room, the height of the ceiling, the light exposure. There are no ideal rooms, but, fortunately, there are wallpapers. So, - there an excellent possibility to "correct" the lacks of Your dwelling.
If the room is situated in the South part, choose cold colors of wallpapers (blue, green, dark blue).
If the room is situated in the North part, the wallpapers of warm colors ( from pale-lemon and beige to rich orange and reddish-brown) will help to compensate the lack of sunlight.
How to make a small room visually more spacious:
- paper over wallpapers with small drawings or light single-color wallpapers;
- paper over cold tone wallpapers - light-green, silver-grey, light blue;
- paper over wallpapers with diamond-shaped drawings;
- don’t paper over light wallpapers with contrast patterns;
- paper over wallpapers with large drawings on the wall opposite to the window;
- paper over a wall with a color that visually "recedes" on the second plan (for example, a quiet dark blue or blue-green), and the adjoining lateral walls - more light;
- paste over the ceiling with longitudinal strips wallpapers.
If you are feeling uncomfortable in a too spacious room:
- paper over wallpapers of rich, warm and dark colors;
- paper over wallpapers with large drawings and slanting lines;
- paper over vertical stripes wallpapers.
If the room is narrow and high:

- Wallpapers with a spotty background, reminding spray splashes, will help to hide some defects of the wall.
- Motley wallpapers with small drawings will help to hide the ledges and the beams of the old houses.
